Fees
My work is priced on a rate per indexable page basis. The rate per page depends on the complexity and density of the text. Rates start at $3 per page. I will provide you with a per page rate based on a representative sample of the text, therefore you will know the cost of the indexing project before I begin working.
Indexes are prepared from final page proofs. If pagination changes are made after I have started indexing, I charge $40 per hour to adjust the work I have already completed.
I accept final page proofs in hardcopy or electronic format. A $.10 per page printing charge will be added to proofs submitted only in electronic format.
Cancellation or rescheduling of an indexing project with less than 10 days’ notice will result in a penalty of 25% of the total fee agreed upon for the project.
A rush fee of 25% - 50% may be charged.
Copyright of the index is transferred upon receipt of payment.
